TitleWisdom Warriors
TypeGame
TasksScriptwriter, Programmer, Game designer
Year1989
DescriptionOne of the last title I developed for the Color Computer, between the decline of this platform and the rise of MS-DOS based PCs. A role-playing game following in the footsteps of the "Ultima" series as well as Coco games "The Gates of Delirium" and "The Seventh Link". In Wisdom Warriors, you would play a real-world game programmer who finds a gate to another world after losing everything he had in our world. The game played just like "The Gates of Delirium". But with a storyline that ranked closer to the "Ultima" series in depth.

The main menu. Inspired by early "Ultima" titles

Animations on the main menu helped give the user an idea of the gameplay.

All block-maps and monster icons were loaded at the same time as the main menu. Palette manipulations meant the user didn't see anything.

First page of the introduction. Our hero, a game programmer, gets fired...

...then loses his house and his pet. Really not a good day.

These images were going to be used in the rest of the introduction.

Other screens that belonged to the introduction.

Final set of screens.

Since I was designing a set of tools to help me make the game, part of the plan involved releasing these tools to promote third-party development of scenarios for the game.

Here, a screenshot of the map designer.

Here's a concept art for the title screen (before the main menu).
