TitleThe Treasure of the Dead Hermit
TypeGame
TasksScriptwriter, Programmer, Game designer
Year1987
DescriptionThis is one of the first Coco 3 title and the development made it up to the beta phase. It was inspired by the "Ultima" series and "The Gates of Delirium". This game however only focuses on a one-on-one turn-based combat interface. The end result was more a luck-fest than anything else but it was still entertaining.

The title shot. All the art in this game was created with BASIC's "DRAW" command.

The Character Creation screen. Your name was all you could enter.

This isn't some badly translated japanese import title but a demonstration of my english when I was 14.

The game screen. You would always face 1 opponent at a time in a turn-based "Ultima"-style combat system.

Your goal was to advance from the right side of the screen to the left.

Killing monsters would increase your score.

A ghostly image of your father appears...

...to give you a message in horrible english.

In level 2 the monsters were tougher and could attack you from afar.

Here a Gorgon threatens the player.

No that's not your dad but an evil ghost.

You had to cross the screen from right to left 10 times before reaching the mountain.

Another interlude introducing you to 3 new monsters that roam the dungeon.

A little bit more storytelling lead to...

...level 3!

In level 3 it got complicated. Rather than moving from right to left you had to find your way through the maze.

Each screen would have from one to four openings.

You would eventually find a way down to face the master gorgon!

The gorgon lived in the creepy DRAW-made volcano!
